Jackson Prep and the Performing Arts Department is excited to introduce a new program for the school year. Ms. Jamie Ferguson will lead  9th through 12th graders in an A Capella Vocal Ensemble similar to the popular styles performed by the group Pentatonix and in the movie Pitch Perfect.

The Vocal Ensemble will meet for rehearsals before school from 7-8 am two mornings a week in the Prep Choral Room. This group will have several performances throughout the school year, and will be a permanent addition to the Performing Arts Department.

Ms. Jamie Ferguson will lead a Pentatonix style Vocal Ensemble workshop on Wednesday, August 12, from 10am-1pm in the Prep Choral Room for students interested in being a part of this ground breaking ensemble. We invite you to come and meet Ms. Ferguson during this clinic and learn how we will  develop their skills in a choral music setting,  and learn more about this fun new vocal program.

Ms. Ferguson will also be starting a Junior High Honor Choir for 7-8th graders interested in furthering their musical abilities outside of the classroom. The purpose of this group will be to provide those students interested in Mississippi All State Honor Choir an opportunity to prepare for the auditions in the Spring. More information will be sent concerning this soon. These students will also meet one morning a week from 7-8am.

Both groups are open to any interested students so please feel free to pass this information along to someone that might be interested in participating. We hope to have many talented voices in this group.
